Teaching Sustainability in Public Schools

Margaret Powers, one of my honors students in the Spring of 2010, prepared a PowerPoint on the basics of sustainability as an Honors Option project in our Environmental Law and Sustainability for Business Course (GBL 480).  She also  also prepared a list of suggested activities. I edited them and added a few materials. PDF files for both are below.

Susan Stentz is an elementary teacher who prepared a PowerPoint on Dia de Los Muertos (November 1) and the monarch butterflies that arrive in Mexico around that date each year.  The difficulties the monarchs face result from logging and changing climate andcould be alleviated if we humans paid more attention to sustainable practices.    With the Ms. Stentz's permission , I have  modified her presentation and posted it to share with others.

Please write to me at stenzel@msu.edu for authorization to use any of the materials below.  Also, after you use our materials, I would love your feedback.  Thanks!
